They have been exposed, vulnerable, distraught, and weeping for 110 years now on a grave in Melaten cemetery in Koln, Germany where I photographed them (very weathered marble) in 2016. The woman in lavender is a ringer for the portrait Richard Avedon made of his wife in 1975.  Edition limited to 12 impressions; large print, 26 x 39".
